This thread is what makes me glad to have purchased from the Ford Store of Morgan Hill.. Upon delivery to the dealer it was prepped, detailed parked in the back lot and the keys went in to the sales managers desk. No fuss no muss... 450.00 over invoice, not MSRP.... Which came down to about 5000 off MSRP... If your willing to travel place your order and they will take care of you...

It costs x10 more to find a new customer than it does to keep an existing one...

Man if that ain't the truth. Ethics is sadly lacking in this instance. I would actually contact Ford not to mention BBB. Will it do any good, perhaps not but some poor soul may just think twice in the future. Usually these poor business practices catch up with them in the long run. Sadly, there are very few "Mom and Pop" dealerships any longer. They are all now owned by 'super stores" that have one goal in mind.................moving units!!

Having said all that.............there are good honest ethical dealerships out there. Perhaps we shouild have a sticky listing them all over the country.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. Did you give them a deposit? I know a lot of guys on here like to brag about the dealer not wanting a deposit, but I would insist on one. A deposit shows them your serious about the truck. I believe most dealers can't order a Raptor without a customer order, and an unreputable dealer could use this to their advantage to get a truck to sell on the lot. Especially knowing the customer is from out of state. I don't think it's common, but it could happen. Best of luck going forward.

I gave a credit card number for them to charge a $500 deposit. However when all this went south I checked my bank account to see if I could challenge the bill and they never charged me. So in effect no I did not technically but I did put down a card in faith of them charging me that deposit.

Unfortunately you should have contacted them when you got your September card statement as to why they didn't take your deposit out. Sounds like they needed a customer order with the intention of selling it off the lot all along. I would contact the Ford rep for that store. At least they will know what this dealer is doing.

Maybe things have changed, but when I ordered mine the dealer told me they had to show proof of a customer order to even get their allocation. Other wise Ford dealers would be ordering all their allocation a marking them up on the lot.

I was charged immediately on my credit card deposit, $1000. I was watching for it.

My dealer told me the same thing. He said they had to provide a name with any orders. I had to sign a order sheet.
