Yea the paper I signed is a Purchase agreement with prices and truck loadout so as for breach of contract I'm not sure but they did stipulate that I had to email them my flight itinerary to prove I was coming to get it. But I have washed my hands of them like I said above I am working with a local dealer that has been AWESOME about all this. The local dealers only worry is getting allocation because he knows he has some favors he can call in to get the truck but won't make a promise he has to go back on. That said looks like a 99% sure deal they are going to have the truck here. In the end if it all works out I will save 1.5k on my purchase price from out there and the cost of driving 1300 miles to bring it home.:headbang:

Yep.... It's a simple agreement that would be tough to hold them to. Man I do wish you the best and hoe you get that Raptor.

Dogknat,
What a horror story! You're really scaring the shit out of me. I just ordered a 2014 mid November last year and am already having trouble with my dealer. Random statements from salesman and sales manager about how they're not making any money on the truck and threatening how they could sell the truck when it arrives for MSRP+. The deal I got was $1k over invoice but I made that agreement with a previous sales manager. What really worries me is that I'm having the truck drop shipped to Livernois for some high dollar upgrades prior to its arrival at my dealership. I will have paid for these upgrades on the truck prior to actually owning it. I tried to get the dealership to sell me the truck once the VIN came through but they said the truck had to be on their lot and inspected by their staff prior to my purchase.
Anyway bro, I hope everything works out for both of us in the end. Hope to see mine sometime mid February. Too many of these dealers are SHADY!!! You would think Ford would step in at some point and punish the dealer for de-valuing the brand.

I would contact Ford via letter and let them know of your complaint. They take customer service seriously and do not want their dealers treating anyone that way, it's bad for the brand. Every time you buy from Ford, if they have your email address, you will receive a questionnaire from the parent company asking how service was from the dealer and your buying experience. You didn't buy from that dealer but you sure should be able to rate them.

As far as I know there is no agreement until money has been handed over. And even then, deposits are treated differently than down payments.

When my truck came in, I picked it up 2 hours later and my salesman had 4 people stop in to try to buy it in that time.

That is total BS. My blood pleasure is up just reading that! I agree with sending a letter and blasting the hell out of them in reviews on any thing you can find including the BBB. Give us the GM's name and email so we can all blast him and cc: Ford!!

I feel for you man! I'm glad things worked out though.

I was one of Dogknat's friends who recommended Columbine, and in fact I recommended a specific salesman. This was the same dealer where I special-ordered my 2013. No troubles with my order, everything was above board, and I was treated fairly.

However, since the time that I purchased my truck, Columbine has sold out to a larger chain of dealers from Denver. Prior to that, they were family owned. If the 85 year old sales manager/pater familias had still been running the place, none of this shitstorm with Dog's truck would have happened.

It's quite frankly a load of horseshit and is going to cost Columbine a TON of business in the future because I've been relaying this story to everybody that I know. I explained the situation to my boss at work and his expression was "holy shit I'm never going back there! And I've bought three trucks from them!".

As a matter of fact, over the last 3 years, myself or members of my family have purchased 4 brand new trucks, either from dealer stock or special order, from Columbine. They won't be seeing that again. They chose to "make a quick buck" rather than "make a longterm, loyal customer" with Dog's truck. In choosing money over people, they've lost another long-time customer: me.

What a ***********.

I think I'm more shocked that you ordered a 14 in August and was willing to pay $3k over MSRP. Also, did you tell the dealer upfront that you wouldn't pick the truck up for over 2 months after delivery.....that in itself is REALLY odd.
Either way they sound shady.

In regards to your last sentence, this is something that I've been thinking about a lot since Dog's situation went down last month.

To me, it seems that the dealerships are just middle-men who get to skim a little bit off the top for no particular good reason. And in fact, many of the sales commission-based pay plans seem to simply incentivise the salesman to **** you over for as much money as he can, rather than sell the unit.

Actually Dog's agreed price was about 2k UNDER MSRP. The walk-in customer that they sold it to was willing to pay the 3k over.

That's where the whole "turn a quick buck" instead of "hold to our agreement" thing comes from.
