Hi everyone, I am the one that started this thread. I came to the conclusion that you really have to mash the throttle and then you get the boost. Still to this day in sport mode, in manual shift mode, the boost doesn't kick in much at all unless I really mash it. But in automatic transmission mode, its different..... apparently the boost has a different mapping in manual shift mode.

Is that a way to give you more control of each gear in that mode? And if you want all the power you have to mash it. Not sure how the engineers looked at it. A hard core off roader could probably make sense of this.

Boost on a turbocharged engine requires engine load. If you have it in manual mode and just buzzing the RPM up w/o load it's not going to build boost. Put it in manual mode, 20 mph, 3rd gear and press the accelerator pedal to the floor. You should see full boost.

This ^^^. If you just rev it up there’s no load demand, so no boost. You can floor it and rev it to the rev limiter with no load and see no boost. There must be significant exhaust flow (load) to spool the turbos.
