Hey Turf,

Do the taillights just pull off?

Well, I have my temp fix until someone comes up with a brace. Took 15 minutes from start to finish and everything is back as it should be. Bough all the stuff at Ace for like $30.

3/8" Bed Bolts removable anchor point- 1,400lbs brake strength 460lbs working load

x4 pack of ratcheting tie downs straps with 1,200lbs brake strength and 400lbs working load

Just pop off the rear tail lights and it exposes the inner channel and gives you plenty of room to work with.

Pics should be self explanatory (unless your user Wrong Way :laughing1:)

When not in use you can take out the hook and plug it with the supplied plastic plug

and everything lines up now

This is a nice little addition regardless, can never have too many anchor points.

So I'm getting the feeling that people without Stage 3's aren't having this issue cuz noone has chimed in. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's in there or I'd probably have a bent frame right now. I'm just wondering if we're shifting forces to difference parts of the truck by stiffening others.

I didn't have it on my stock 2010 and I put 45k hard miles on her. Nothing has turned up on my 2012 either and I've got 13k miles with a fair bit of airtime. I don't have Stage 3 or even bumpstops...
And I agree as well with your last point - strengthening some things doesn't create a weakness somewhere per se, however depending on the driving conditions, the weakest link in the package will sometimes be made evident.

Whoa, this is a family site. lets keep it PG around here.
I think Bojangles put it best over a year ago - "They say the first symptoms of AIDS is a pounding sensation in the rear"

Yeah, I've thought about it. I had it in last week for a wire loom replacement and I showed him the half torn out fender liner. My service manager is a real straight forward guy, I would even say he's a customer advocate. I was perfectly honest with him and told him about the rut I had hit. Ya know, I said "I'm surprised that the wheel can even make contact with that, Ford bills this truck as baja ready". He agreed on all points but said because of the nature of how it happened Ford wouldn't warranty it. I don't want to start pointing out the other mods on the truck to him in fear that they may start denying other warranty items. My rear bumper is askew and he's going to realign it under warranty. The spread really isn't that bad and I'm hoping one of the vendors comes up with a solution. I'm going to use Turf's setup for now.
