I just got off the phone with SVT and there is no delay because of the shortage of Tuxedo Black paint or any other paint. My truck is scheduled to be built this week and he says its on schedule......

There would not be a shortage for trucks being built this week or ones already scheduled for the most part. It would be for any upcoming scheduling.

All my trucks (Ford BTW) have been Black, very good color and worth the wait IMO...BUT....This time I have gone Ingot Silver and the pics look great and all who I've talked to (who have seen it in person) syas it looks awesome. So hope that helps but be sure to go with your gut and dont let the time frame be your only deciding factor.

Correct. This paint shortage ONLY affects vehicles that have not already been scheduled.

Here's updates based on the Parts Shortage thread in the Ford Employee Section on Blue Oval Forum:

Rumor has it BIg wigs are having a meeting today about shortages. They might be planning to idle some plants any truth to this?

Well...........Ben Fowler is here at DTP this very moment. I do know this, we may be seeing some down time due to a "Paint Issue"!

Janeaubrey19 said:
Yeah but if they do I'm 99.9% certain it wont be DTP. We are the last to close. I did hear something about AAI. But we all know how that goes.

For clarification, DTP is Dearborn Truck Plant which is the only plant that produces Raptors.

Here's the thread with the ongoing discussion: Parts Shortage - Blue Oval Forums - Page 2

The update I got..........

To: U.S. Dealers

Subject: Supply Chain Update - Japan

As a result of the devastating situation in Japan, we are monitoring the impact to our people, supply chain and overall business as details continue to rapidly progress in the region. We have recently been made aware of a supply chain issue that will disrupt the supply of pigments for some of our paints.

We have not changed our production plans, but we are adjusting future scheduling for some paint colors as a precautionary move to ensure we have maximum supply. Colors that are affected in the near-term include:

§ Tuxedo Black

§ Royal Red

§ Red Candy

§ Red Fire

Scheduling

· Scheduling has been suspended for Tuxedo Black at Dearborn Truck (F-150) and Kentucky Truck (Super Duty, Expedition and Navigator) for production during the week of April 4. NOTE: Tuxedo Black production at Kansas City will continue for the near-term.

· We will limit the scheduling volumes of the Red colors at Kentucky Truck, Michigan Assembly (Focus), Ohio Truck (Econoline), Twin Cities (Ranger) and Tuxedo Black at Chicago (Explorer, Taurus and MKS) in this week's scheduling run.

· We do not anticipate a loss of production at this time, as a result of this situation.

Get the truck in a different color and paint it when you get it that sucks though man sorry. I just talked to a salesman today about a build order told me takes about 6 to 8 weeks which is no big deal just seeing what they quoted you also the price someone told me that you pay the price for the truck which obviously no problems wish it was free haha but there was also another price just for them to build the raptor thank you guys once again can't wait to put an order in if everything falls into place
