Took the words outta my mouth, errr... fingers.
Good call, Boid.

Right on guys - another thread hi-jacked for the gutter :) !
The other issue with the paint - just speculating, is that Ford buys it from a supplier in Japan on contract - for much cheaper than the 1000's of local suppliers to save a few cents per gallon.
I think we can all agree that the catastrophe in Japan is going to impact the price of many things over the next year.

Not to be a ****, but maybe this Made In Japan presumed factoid will finally shut Birdman the **** up about black being better than white.

Yeah.... I'm stirring this one with a BIG spoon.

HEY! Now how the HELL am I gonna get all the missing paint on my truck waranteid? HAHahaaaa, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Oh well, Clunk a / missa paint will just have to keep me happy I guess. HAhahaaaaaaa. Its a truck. I should have got mine in primer and chose a diffent color. HAhhaaaaaaaa.

Ya know my Tuxido Black looks a little like Bass Boat Paint, think Cabela's will have some touch up paint there for my Raptor?

Dang. So much for getting a VIN by the end of March. Damn globalization. Hope they have a quick contingency plan for a supplier shortage or loss like this.

This is definitely twisting the knife for those with orders stuck in processing.

Damn it, I ordered a black one on 2/12 also! No VIN yet on mine either. I guess I'll try calling tomorrow to find out about this issue, and what my options are.

Maybe, they'll offer to paint it in dark gray for my trouble, the color I originally wanted, but not offered in the Raptor!

I would love to get a dark metallic red Raptor, but I don't see that happening. Maybe if this only affected an extremely small group of end customers.

Our only options are just to modify our orders since we don't have a VIN yet or ride out the storm. "until further notice" could be next Monday or it could be 3-6 week. Who knows.

I guess the only silver lining is that this is just longer to go without a loan or insurance payment. Also time to save up for mods I guess.

Still totally sucks though. Now we get to see the darkside of just in time inventory. Hope these concerns are short lived.
