Get the truck in a different color and paint it when you get it that sucks though man sorry. I just talked to a salesman today about a build order told me takes about 6 to 8 weeks which is no big deal just seeing what they quoted you also the price someone told me that you pay the price for the truck which obviously no problems wish it was free haha but there was also another price just for them to build the raptor thank you guys once again can't wait to put an order in if everything falls into place

I didn't place an order to only change the color to something I don't want. The only other color that I would be interested in is not available on the Raptor. It's a dark red metallic. I'm willing to wait. At worst, just longer for me to go w/out a loan or insurance payment.

I'd say 11 weeks at least. The price is whatever you negotiate with your dealer. For me, it was invoice along with a documentation fee which makes it about $300 over invoice total. Most would agree that if you can get about $500 or so above invoice then you got a good deal. Beyond that, the destination fee ($975) is already built into the vehicle price. Not all dealers charge a doc fee and in some states the fee is capped by law.

if we ever have a FRF super draft due to a civil forum war, Randy will be my first pick.

Yeah. You'd think that Ford would be practicing supplier diversity so their supply chain wouldn't be affected by a single variable. This is surprising considering they utilize a just in time inventory.

Update from Blue Oval:

KCAP truck side is working saturday 3-26-2011 with 4-2 4-16 4-23 tentative
SUV B crew is working Saturday and A crew is working Sunday
In the Plant managers meeting he stated we have enough parts to run the truck side 10 hours through next friday 4-1-2011
Alternate suppliers are online and starting to deliver parts they cost a little more but we can still fulfill our customers orders < --American Made ?

Applies to the KC Plant and not DTP, but good to hear new suppliers coming online. Maybe the only delay will be new supplier ramp up and delivery.

Ford has issued a public statement on the paint situation:

Ford spokesman Todd Nissen confirmed the auto maker sent the note Thursday as a precautionary measure concerning metallic paints.

"There is a pigment, called xirallic, that is running low in supply," Mr. Nissen said. "While we can fill current orders we have asked dealers not to take new orders for certain types of paints."
