Busa, as we have talked a bit, any chance of putting some subs under the front seats or in the center console? I like to have all the space in my back seat when the seats are up for my dogs or whatever gear. I want a super stealth sub. My old GMC Sierra had the Bose system and the sub was on the center console.

My ideal sounding system is the one i had in my BMW and in my wife's BMW, sounds amazing and the subs are under the front seat. I believe their system is a logic7 set-up.

i can probably fit a woofer there, but you would lose the space on the center console. i dont know how much space will be lost until i know how big of a woofer i can fit in there. but the invite is always open for you to drop by. i will see if SVTCALI can let me use his truck again, but i dont know how much interest people have in this.

Hey nosbusa congrats, I sold my shop in Gilroy about 5 years ago.. Check with your supplier, one is probably Pete, about online sales. When I had the retail shop I was one of the biggest Rockford shops in Cali... I am on a current project with my truck but when I finish your welcome to play just dont scratch it..lol... We did some pretty custom stuff won a ton of trophies at sound offs etc... If you have any questions about owning a shop pm me... Goodluck.... and I will stop by soon to check out the place... oh what about change nothing on the poll...

Nos, I'd be down for 1 10" sub box for my SCab. I think the freq response on the stock sub is what makes it garbage. Plays way too much mid range. I bet a cleansweep or the likes would help make it suck less, but where's the fun in that....

Depending on the design, an amp mounted to a single 10" box could be cool, but if I could mount it behind the seat, I'd probably prefer that to take up even less room....

unfortunately, there is no room behind the seat for a woofer. i can mess around with a 10 in woofer but, i think my primary focus are 12's.

the reason you hear so much mid coming from that oem woofer is because of the voice coil size. and that the factory eq curve is set to accomodate that little woofer.

As soon as I get this I'll throw up a test for bird using the lighter to show how hard it hits. Then I'll give my thoughts on how sturdy the product is, how well it's made, sound quality, etc.

Audio upgrade check list ...need help

I'm getting all the stuff (I think) I need for my audio upgrade. Need an expert oppinion...

'12 SCrew with Nav.

This is what I have:

AMP: JL Audio XD400/4 - 4-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4

SUB: Soundgate™ SubStage™ SF150C09 by Kicker — custom-fit powered subwoofer

FRONT SPK: JL Audio C3-570

REAR SPK: JL Audio C3-525

I'm getting the amp wiring kit (StreetWires ZeroNoise 3 ZN3Ki-04)

Not sure about the CleanSweep. Is that a must?
Am I missing anything else?
I'd like to have the install done by a reputable car audio shop. Any recommendations for Princeton NJ area?
How is KHC (Krazy House Customs) for this kind of stuff?

Oh, btw, I got the heated/cooled seats, so there's no room under the front seats for the amp.
The only other place for it is vertically inside the arm rest... (possible overheating issues??)

your rear speakers are 5x7 (or 6x8) so those 525's will not fit perfectly. you will need some sort of summing device to make it work properly. the clean sweep with the summing device woks the best for these trucks, but you can use others if you want. alpine, rockford, audio control, etc, they all make units. but i prefer jl audio. the amp can go on the back wall.
