Scabs are aimed towards performance while screws are more aimed towards convenience OF THE TWO. I want to upgrade my whole sound but rather spend on suspension,ect....first. Media, well....., Not to mention the same system thrown into an even bigger cab with kids. The stock sub is further positioned back too I believe. Makes a big difference I bet with the already too small sub. Lol The stock sub puts out a lot of your mid. Just the sub pushed back could make that tad bit of difference in sound to make the screw owners to seek out???

another question for you all. 1 or 2 subwoofers? in the scab it looks like 2 will fit. in the screw i know 2 will fit. im wondering how many of you want to keep space under the rear seat, or if you are willing to give up that space.

scab owners - 2 woofers will fit under the 2/3 section of the seat. the amp will have to be located under the 1/3 section or under the passenger seat...... possibly behind the rear seat. as a 1 woofer setup i can build the box to house the amp and keep it all under the 2/3 section.

screw owners - one big underseat box with amp built in to the box, will take up most of the underseat space, if not all of it. or a 1woofer setup that will take about 2/3 of the space, with the amp built into the box

i am going to try to make as many fiberglass shells as possible, i am just curious as to how much interest there is between a 1 and 2 woofer setup and amp location. for most of you, i will be posting a video of the install so you can do it all yourself, so a behind the rear seat amp location might be a bit of a pain. also access to it will be impossible, for tuning. so you will have to tune it before reinstalling the back seat and make sure its set how you want.

If you can't get a single sub setup down to 1/3 the back seat by moving the amp or something like that I have to vote for two sub taking up the whole area under the SCrew back seat. Right now that area is good for storing long skinny thing like rifles and umbrellas. If I'm gonna lose that functionality with a single sub anyway might add well go Big!

Busa, I'd go with one in the current Sony spot.

One thing to keep in mind about locating the amp under the passenger seat it they have the aircondition seats. The AC seats work off a small fan that is located below the seat. The HVAC duct is located on the floor to flow air to the rear seats. The front AC seats rely on the small fan to suck the air up and pass it through the seat cushion. Does that make sense?

So if you put an amp under there, it will heat that area up and the AC seats won't work as well. Just something to consider. Not detrimental.

I think he's talking about amp under passenger side back seat (where it's split into 1/3) , which doesn't have AC. Or behind the back seat on the rear wall.

the problem with the scabs is that the 1/3section is too small for a 12in woofer. there might be the possibility for a 10in there, but im not sure yet. i will know more this afternoon.

i was thinking of possibly an amp under the front passenger seat, but it looks like that might not be a good idea. and behind the rea seat is a pain, but still an option...

IMPORTANT INFO....... the scab seats will not fold up anymore!!!!!! i was looking at them yesterday, and relized that the seat movement is not the same as a screw.
more bainstorming later today...........

More info on under passenger front seat please. Why would this not be a good idea? I don't have AC seats if that's the problem.

In the SCREW, there is room under the back of the 1/3 portion of the seat for an amp. I currently store my tow strap there.

Under the front passenger seat will work, but wanted to let Busa know the heat out put would affect the front AC seats.
