Anyone go from a Gen 3 Raptor to EV Lightning ?

Why stop at the Lightning, might as well get a matching Prius while your at it.
It’s insanely quick and rides well. My work has a charger so I could technically never pay for charging it so it would essentially be “free” outside the initial cost. I was in before the price increase and got an XLT ER, used the tax credit, and even received a credit for install and other benefits from the utility company.

It’s a super practical truck for plenty of people. It’s nearly maintenance free and is cheap to charge. The 320 mile range is plenty for most people, especially considering many families would have another vehicle for trips. It pulls a load well for about 150-180 miles, and I didn’t see hardly any decrease in range with 1k in the bed.

It’s PC and there are tax benefits for businesses. It can provide power for some jobsites, and idle almost indefinitely. For businesses that work inside a metro area, it’s perfect for driving site to site. It rides well.

It’s definitely not for everyone, but that’s why they make a Maverick and an F450. I drive a lot so it just isn’t working out for me.

Hey, you do you, I don’t care if you drive a Barbie Power Wheels to work (which are battery powered too) and why would you mention it’s “PC” are your friends bullying you about your Raptor.

Yea, I don’t really care about that really (considering I’m on here) but it does matter to some people, specifically businesses. I was obviously just pointing out benefits of the platform.

Didnt read the whole thread but I have both and am not planning on keeping the Lightning. I like the truck, it's fun to drive around town and I love having a full charge every morning.

I have range anxiety. People say "don't worry about it" and all of that, but even a two hour trip drives me up the wall with the fear of not making it. The charging system (in Louisiana/Texas) is NOT ready for EVs yet. It's horribly unreliable and not spaced well for the range this truck has. I've counted on multiple chargers that ended up not working or being behind a fence.

People don't realize this but you can charge to 100% the night before a trip BUT the road chargers will not let you go past 80ish. You generally try to stop around 10-20% so that means you are really at 60% working range unless you like pushing limits...which is hard in areas with fewer chargers. Charging at a hotel or other level 1/2, it is so slow that it is impractical unless you are there for a day.

My range on the interstate drops 1/4-1/3. If you go 60 it isn't as bad but 80mph kills the m/kWh. It doesn't get too cold here but I've still seen a drop in winter range.

I'm coming up on my 10k service on the Lightning. To be fair, it hasn't been in the shop once and my 23 Raptor has been in the shop for 7 weeks since I got it in Dec 22.
I wouldn't personally buy an EV truck/SUV unless it had 500+ miles of range to account for highway speeds, cold weather, climbing up grades, etc.. Not to mention the combination of highway + cold weather + climbing grades we experience many times a year driving to Tahoe to snowboard.

Our Model 3 is a great around town / short trips type of car. The Raptor is what we use for longer trips (e.g. greater than 100 miles away), camping, and trips to the mountains. It's a great setup and the only thing missing is a sports car :)

Seems like a huge PITA, I don’t want to have to worry about if I have enough charge to go somewhere or coming home from somewhere. If you need gas, stop, fill it up, under 5 and your on your way.

And let’s not forget towing and all the other factors you mentioned. You will never convince me.
