I think its down to the amount of work ( time ) an air impact has just miles a head of an cordless

If you do a lot of stuff i would opt for a good air system in you "garage" so you can plug it in at multiple places hooked up to a sound isolated compressor
Also nice for other airpower tools

If you just DIY a little. Go cordless.

Just my idea

That is exactly the nice thing about cordless. No hose...No compressor...and no huge power bill. My cordless will keep up with any air wrench on the market and actually out power some. Now I agree if you do a lot of work the air wrench and compressor is the only way to go.

I've got air in the garage w/ 1/2, 1/4 impact tools…etc…

Bought the Kobalt 20V for traveling and the Raptor events we attend.

Had a hard time busting the nuts off our '11 Harley Davidson F150 after ruining a tire running over a bicycle on the beltway….almost rounded off one of the lug nuts….

Never again...

Now when we travel…I carry the cordless impact in the tool box….

Got both use them in different situations but I do find my self using the cordless as a impact more, no hoses... but air is great for all the other tools he'll get both!
