Intercooler Shutters - removal.

Damn that looks sweet especially on Agate Black. My OCD would kill me if I didnt do the fender flares to match.

The flares already match the Agate quite well, more of satin look.

Since lower temps = moar power I'm not having anything block my air flow lol.

Today my goal was to remove them while in the process of installing my COBB OEM mount intercooler. This is what I know:

Just unplugging the motor that controls the shutters will throw a code.

Removing the shutters is ridiculously easy - you don't even need to turn a wrench >> Bend them forward from the center until the right side pops out, do this to all three and done - motor is still in place and NO Codes, and cleans it up a bit!!

EDIT: it did throw a code later that evening, back to the drawing board (anyone know if the actuator for the shutters can be turned off with Forescan?)

That's interesting, when I removed all my shutters I never got a code. It's been a while now too.

I think so...mine is a 2022. Nothing you can't overcome I'm sure!

What was your solution on this? I have had my shutter motors tied away for 6 months with no problems until the cold weather moved in. Now it is throwing a P05A1 and P05B0 code and prevents me from starting the truck unless I clear the codes.

This tricks the actuator in believing that the shutters are still there.

I think for the pre 2024 truck you can just unplug the actuator and you're good, at least that's what I have heard
