I think for the pre 2024 truck you can just unplug the actuator and you're good, at least that's what I have heard
based on the poster above i doubt it. i had read about codes being thrown a couple of years ago too

Any noticeable difference in temperatures? The cosmetic talks about matching flares are great but I’m hungry for some meat and potato data - what kind of delta between shutters vs no shutters are we seeing when it really matters - the summer? I believe under 110f there’s little benefit if I remember the tuner discussions from years back, but my tuned+whipple IC swapped 2022 can see 120-125 in the summer, with shutters still in so I’m curious.

I am seeing about a 8-13 degree difference from ambient under steady throttle. I also have a Cobb OEM mount intercooler.

Any updates on removing the shutter assembly on 2024+? I tried pulling mine completly when installing Cobb FMIC but received CEL.

The 3d printed piece below is no longer available.

This tricks the actuator in believing that the shutters are still there.

The science behind the shutters and why ford uses them. They are used to control the barometric pressure under the hood to prevent condensation from forming in the intercooler. The early ecoboost F150's had a problem with condensation pooling in the bottom of the intercooler on long drives in damp weather. If you needed to accelerate quickly(WOT) under these conditions the water would get sucked into the engine and cause massive misfires and the entire truck would shake like crazy or the truck would not accelerate at all, no power. Many complaints were filed against ford for the problem hense the shutters were the solution to the problem. I've noticed a couple threads lately describing the misfire when accelerating and wonder if they removed the shutters so be careful.

Great info. Sounds like the shutters are staying there indefinitely.

I had to buy 2 of these for upper and lower shutter motors for my 24. I installed a Full Race intercooler and winch. You might only need 1 depending on what you are doing with it.

This is the way now for 24’s and up if you don’t want to throw a cell. I have a Cobb FMIC for my ‘24 going in, I originally bought the toggle insert from shutter room to bypass the shutter motor that a few of you listed but I then heard it still will throw a cell. Something about ‘24s and beyond being more sensitive, so you need this shutter motor relocation kit, which by the way is just a piece of metal to relocate the shutter motor, it is super insignificant once you get it in. Some have just zip tied the shutter motor nearby but kept it plugged in and achieved the same bypass ability if you need to remove shutters. While I agree with @pat247 I think it’s even more than preventing condensation the shutters also help with keeping the engine warm during cold starts and then opening up when it’s warmer out to cool it down in the engine bay. So I think it’s twofold.
