I just had a tuner delivered from 5Star. I want to dyno my truck, and would like to get a before and after. I understand there is some learning and adaptation that occurs after a new map is loaded. Can anyone tell me if back to back pulls as stock then tuned would be ok? What exactly is happening during the learning period? Does it learn and make more power after full adaptation? Should I wait after the tune is flashed before the next dyno run?

I'll post my dyno results here when I get them too.

If someone knows, please hurry. It's like christmas and I want to flash that tune NOW!!!

Would be nice to dyno the stock tune without the speed limiter. Anyone know if that is possible? The SCT x3 manual seems to say the speed limiter is configured with the tune options. Any way to change the option without loading a tune?

That thread was a before and after with an AFE intake. Mike TexaSS has another thread with a before an after of a 5star tune. Either way, I have a Volant intake, Donaldson Powercore, and Roush non-resonated exhaust. Every truck is a little different, that makes it fun. Dyno results are like *******. Once I saw one set, I wanted to see them all.

I'm still trying to think about how to get rid of the speed limter with the stock tune. That has made me think about how these tune files are created on the SCT tuner. Is there any way I can edit these tunes, create my own? Can I edit the stock tune once it is off loaded onto my PC? Is this a feature left to dealers only?

Here is it. Lower than I expected, but it was 91 degrees in the shop and wicked humid. This place is normally working on VWs so they only had one small fan, not enough for this big motor. I know heat was an issue because if I did immediate back to back pulls, peak HP would drop by 30.

It says Dynojet across the top of the graph.

Was this before/after just for the 5 star tuner or was this also including the gains from your intake and such?
