4wd pop and whining noise when in 2wd

soooooooo parts came in 3 weeks ago. they replaced the hub, said it was fixed. I drove the truck no more than 5 miles and its doing it again. called them and they said to bring it back. took it back and they looked at it again and said they needed time with it so I let them have it for a week (all while borrowing a truck from work) and they couldn't figure it out. Finnaly I mentioned the iwe (again!) and the techs response was " that could be it, let me ask tech line" so he types it up on tech line and sends it, they send back a couple hours later and respond to change it as instructed before..... and then he printed the conversation out and showed it to me. Ford had instructed them to change the IWE before not the hub bearing.

I hate idiots..... any way IWE is here, they broke the axle shaft though while trying to change it. so now I am waiting to here back from them about how long it will take before they get the axle and I get my truck back.

axle came in late yesterday afternoon. went in this morning, IWE seems to have fixed it so far. I haven't been able to do much driving yet but will update in the next day or 2

Holy shit..... Truck is back in the shop with the same noise. And on top of that, it's got a noise in the motor and 59,650 miles on it. I guess it's time to get real serious about getting it fixed

Mine does this poping in 4 wheel also.. no clue what it is and truthfully I say **** it because they can't figure it out so i'm just going to run it until something breaks.

how does one even break a axle shaft doing a repair,seems like that would take a real special level of screw up.
