curious, why you wouldnt have the dealer check any of this stuff under warranty?

40k miles is out of warranty and his spring spacers clearly caused a number of the issues.

Yeah specially since there's a tsb warning techs not to warranty suspension parts on F150's with spring spacers. Although some dealers/techs will "over look" that kinda stuff. BigJ probably could have got a rear shock out of em though (if he was still in warranty).
All of the above. I take full responsibility for the spacers, and the damage they caused/are causing. That's nobody's fault but my own. Lesson learned :)

Nice write-up.... Sorry about your findings. Welcome to ever-growing frame-fixin, suspension spending, Raptor club.

I know that most street drivers out there won't have a thing to worry about when it comes to the frame. But as you said BigJ, you've had a handful of steering wheel on occasion (pucker factor) and apparently that's about all it takes to bend it.

Kudos on the RPG install write-up.... Is the RPG shop in LA?
Thanks! Yeah I think you're right about the 'all it takes' comment, but with one extra detail... I think that's all it takes when fully loaded (or maybe overloaded?) I think having XXXlbs in the back has a huge part to play in all this.

I met Corey of RPG at RaptorAddict's shop. RaptorAddict (Kirk) is an authorized RPG installer, and they took this opportunity to brush up on some install techniques and tips. His shop is located in Chatsworth (Corey and bstoner59 came two hours north to meet me as I came south from San Jose, CA. Very cool and time saving gesture!)

Good point...and that's the rub... I don't know of many that go out without XXXlbs in the back. For me, I'd guess about 400+; 2 spares, 10gal fuel, water, tools....

I noticed when loaded like this, I hit my Fox bumps pretty quick....

Someone please triple check me, but I'm fairly certain its this:

AL3Z18A099A "Front Suspension Shock Mount With SVT Raptor"
Here's the info off the invoice from the parts counter at a Ford dealership:

PN 18A099 - FRONT STRUT AND SPRING ASSEMBLY

This is a Raptor specific part.

Exactly... Almost anybody going Offroad carries 300-400 pounds extra if properly equipped.

If you're like me (aka a relative newbie at most of this off road stuff), you've never heard what a blown shock sounds like. I grabbed this vid tonite to at least try and give a sense of it. There's a much deeper base note that goes with the clicking you can hear in the vid. Its that clicking (clunking?) you can really hear and feel when in the cab. Hopefully your speakers can reproduce it for you.
