Also, I bet the Gen3 Raptor was always a 2022 model BUT Ford pushed it up to 2021 to provide a product to some while they work on the V8 variant in 2022.
Relax guys, most here prob can't afford a 100K truck anyway and if you can, you are not likely going to Baja to beat on it.
Seems very likely. That would explain the rather anomalous year naming.
As far as pricing - that's exactly why Ford isn't concerned with the TRX. The people whining about the Raptor's limitations and lack of V8 - by and large - can't afford a Raptor, let alone the TRX. Those that can afford either and want bragging rights - not actual performance - will opt for the TRX, because it is the most expensive and has the best numbers. The rest of us will realize that the Raptor is better in every practical way, and much cheaper.
I think the Ford press announcement says it best:
F-150 Raptor has eclipsed the sales of other well-known performance icons. Over the last four years, the previous-generation Raptor cumulatively outsold Porsche’s entire lineup of sports cars and also outsold Chevrolet’s Corvette.
