I actually liked the sound I heard in the TFL video of the new truck. I'll readily admit the sound on the Gen 2's suck, but I don't buy the idea that a 6 cylinder engine isn't capable of great sound. Just listen to any Porsche. Maybe Ford got it right this time?

i never understood the hate when it came to the V6 sound.. 30 dollar forscan and some time on the laptop to remove the piped in sound and bam! so much better! plus I remember how I was laughing too much just flooring it everywhere.. in hind sight.. maybe I was the reason my Gen 2 died? HAHA.. meh!

What ford is doing is pissing off their customers who want a V8 Raptor. They always play their stupid marketing games. When the Raptor R does comes out, we will then have to deal with all the dealers mark up over MSRP and probably limited production. I starting to think, the TRX is the way to go....Ford you Suck

Ford dealers are going to absolutely ass **** Raptor R buyers. Just like they did with the Shelbys.

ford really needs to reel in the dealers that rip people off with all the ford performance mark ups. the shelby's are really bad.

I don’t like dealer markups anymore than the next guy, but it is a free open market and people determine something’s value and dealers can charge more or less based off that. Particularly in regions where demand is high, supply is likely low and being the latest and greatest, it will drive up the suggested price. The TRX currently has ADM, but isn’t as high as the Raptor R will be and thats because we value the TRX less (put nicely, it’s a POS by comparison). Manufactures and/or dealers don’t take off thousands of dollars in special offers to vehicles that are unique and highly sought after.

If you don’t want to over pay (from your perspective) shop around and be patient, otherwise be prepared pay to play.

Why are you not talking about the cheap 2.5” shox on the heavy pig TRX. They are garbage compared to the Raptor!

Almost 7000 lbs truck lol. The Raptor R is on route. Get ready.
Yeah but the TRX is super fast. Didn't say it was better or worse, just fast.

More like a Gen-2.5. Not a fan of the new frontend look. I do like the 37's and new rear suspension. 15" rear travel is nice. Should be much easier for the aftermarket to upgrade. New tuning on the V6 sounds interesting. Betting there is a decent bump in power.
No 15" of travel with 37's, 14.1" rear and the front drops from 14" to 13".

You're not wrong exactly, but the dealership isn't exactly a free open market. Yes, you have some options and competition, but you have a lot more options when buying gas for example, over buying a vehicle from one of the 3 Ford dealerships in a 50 mile radius. That is changing though, and dealerships are able to appeal to customers much further away...through internet advertising and such.

As well, it's not like Ford can't exert more control over their dealers. Markups can hurt the image of a dealership, but they also hurt Ford's reputation. Other manufacturers in retail due put restrictions on retailers, not allowing them to sell at higher or lower price than the manufacturer wants. No reason Ford cant' do something similar.

Styling wise- it's ugly. The Gen 2 is better by a wide margin- but it has the same styling problem in my book.

Boss:
"Here, take this new F150 and make me a Raptor".

OK. Copy pasta F O R D grille, baja front bumper, some gray flares- blend in the big fenders, and done.
"I did it boss"

It'd be nice to see some originality after over a decade of the same thing.

The "Raptor R" will be the base Raptor before you know it. The % take on the V6 is going to be laughable.
