I'm in the camp that the Gen 3 is a fail. It's less visually pleasing than the Gen2, it retains the 3.5L that has been the single largest source of the Gen 2s criticisms. The interior is improved but is inferior to the TRX.

I sold my 2018 Raptor with anticipation for the Gen 3. I'm glad I went ahead and left the Ford truck world behind for now.

The Gen 2 is a great truck but I couldn't live with the 3.5L.

Same. Sold mine a little over a year and a half ago. Tired of hearing vrrrrrr vrrrrrr vrrrrr, piped in fake engine noise and shit crackling under the hood.

How so... 5 link suspension, Super Fox Shox, 37’s and the RAPTOR R is on its way! Read this and let it sink in.

You can let the wait for the Raptor R sink in for a while yet pal, just to equal what the TRX is now.

not sure why this is a bust. no scab sucks but it wont have a significant impact in sales. the speculation is over, a v8 is coming. if its not ready yet ford probably has some major innovations in the works for the raptor r, aside from everything else they are working on.

the trx is in a class of its own both with price and performance. the raptor r will compete directly with it.

the v6 raptor is in a class of its own. aside from the trx, nothing comes close. not everyone wants or can afford a 100k truck that gets single digit mileage. the v6 raptor will be available for a lot less but still offer much more power and capability than everyone else's "off road truck"

definitely not a bust, disappointing? kinda.

if there was no TRX most people would have just been pumped to see a shot of the next gen, I know I was excited to see it, not to mention the Gen 3 is better in every single metric over a Gen 2 (except hp and tq, we will see if it is soon though).

my thought of the reveal being lackluster is based on the effort Ford put into the Bronco reveal last summer and now the Raptor, which got a 4 min video with nothing else. lol I had to go to TFL for the press release and watch their video on a breakdown of the truck. that was frustrating.

either way I'm looking forward to driving one.

Lol people aren't paying attention. The 3.5 is the best choice, so no surprise it remains the base engine. Suspension upgrades are a step change improvement, but not a massive improvement - in other words, very typical in what we've seen in the past.

The regular F150 updates along with the 37in package from factory are what really sells it. All the woes of trying to upsize to 37s are gone, solved by the factory for you. People have whined about this for a decade now, and yet when Ford does it "its a TOTAL BUST".

Yep I might do a 2022 when I am due for an upgrade. Love the 37" option and the 5 link. Not getting an "R" Ford is going to bend people over for it. And to be honest I bet Ford does 500HP with the gen 3 ecoboost anyway.
I am not a fan of the grill at all.
