2017 Raptor at Auto Shows

gonna go to the NY auto show and try to get some pics: really can't understand why its gonna be 2016 before these come out!!! Yes I understand there is lots new on this but hey this was way back when gas was topping $4 a gallon. You think they may put the 6.2L back???? its got the reliability??? I know the all wheel drive it currently being tested in the focus rally car so it can handle the horse power and torque. I juts really can't see Ford loosing out all the sales money that long. Anyone else chime in???

Yes, its 2016 before they come out. Because of the aluminum body they had to re-tool all the plants and the standard f-150 is top priority to get off the line and the Raptor is 2nd since its such a small amount of sales compared to the standard f-150.

The 6.2L will never be back in the Raptor in my opinion. They will go to the 5.0 twin turbo v8 before they ever go back to the 6.2L.

The AWD system isnt going to be a weak link. AWD has been in certain Ford vehicles for a long time and been around for a very long time in other makes so its not really rocket science.

So my construction site is directly across the street from Fox News in Manhattan. Yesterday I get to work and my laborer says "did you see your truck in front of fox?? Right away I know there must be the 2017 raptor getting shot there because it's the day before the auto show, and everyday they are shooting new cars and shows and such in the plaza during their filming.

I run over there and the security whom I know very well let me in behind the stanchions while the driver is away. I could've popped the hood, or started the thing up; I was Right next to it. I don't want him fired lol so I took a very close look and snapped a few in the minutes before they pulled it out to load it back up.

Guys, when it drove passed me on the sidewalk, it sounded just like my bone stock 6.2. What seemed like the normal valve train or injector ticking, and the exhaust burble sounded very similar to a stock raptor beat. Just sayin'

I have no experience with Eco boost motors but do they or could they sound like that?

Sorry for the extremely poor, short clips but the driver did not blip the throttle not a once, even when I asked him. And there's too much background noise, I tried my best without getting in the way

Someone needs to stick their head in the wheel well and see if you can see any glimpse of the side of the engine that's in there, if you can even see it at all.

I would not be surprised at all if the 6.2L is in the 2017 Raptor show car because they are still developing and testing the new 3.5L v6. EB TT. I am willing to bet the 2017 has the same trans also. It means nothing as we all know the 2017 Raptor will come with the new EB and 10-speed trans.

You know if that is the 6.2 in there, I wonder how much they'll want for the prototype lol!
