Hi all,

I’m looking at a 2019 Gen 2 with 28k miles. I’ve done my research and know the main concerns with them, what else should I know? Is the extended warranty worth it? What is a fair price at the dealer?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure it doesn’t have the Raptor rattle. Any service records?

I never got extended warranty up here cuz it’s crap up here. I’ve heard the Flood Ford ext warranty is good.

It’s a shame there’s not a search engine on FRF, or it might turn up a post like this

Should have clarified that I read that originally, I’m more so wondering if the warranty is something most have added. The low mileage is nice but also makes me wonder.

Purchasing aUsed car is a crapshoot dude get the truck pre-inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase. Get the service history and reduce your risk as much as you can. No one here has a crystal ball.
The pitfalls which they are few of voting a GEN two are well documented on the Internet and on this forum. I researched for about four months before I pulled the trigger. This forum is extremely helpful but you have to put in the work yourself no one is going to do that for you.

A few things to know when considering a Gen 2…

1. They’re awesome but have a few inherent quirks
2. They are objectively the best looking of all Raptors
3. Pre-2020 will almost certainly develop a phaser rattle at some point
4. Extended warranties are like childbirth, painful at first (so I’m told) but incredibly rewarding over a lifetime.
5. Options for upgrading and personalizing are practically endless, and the temptation to do so will be strong so factor that in to the cost of ownership
6. The Raptor community (here of FRF and beyond) is probably the best part of owning one
