Talking shit? No. Comparing specs on paper? Yes.

But anyway, anyone have anymore LA Auto Show pics?

IMO comparing specs stock to stock is pointless when the majority of Raptor enthusiasts almost immediately upgrade their shocks, springs, and also add a new tune/cai/exhaust. Until a gen2 goes head to head against a gen1 with that setup you're just wasting air...

Comparing a modded truck to an unmodded truck isnt exactly fair.

disagree, what person is going to feel good about themselves when they say their stock gen2 can beat a stock gen1 all the while knowing not many people run a full stock first gen and that a slightly modded gen1 will whoop on them?

The thing non raptor owning gen2 humpers are forgetting and will need to accept is that our personal trucks already have most of the 'game changing' mods they brought to the 2017 so be prepared to be the underdog !

I wonder if the same people stuck on the gen 2 train are going to be like :flipthebird: Ford when they can't find one for less than 10k over msrp and then go buy a Tacoma TRD instead.

Since this truck financially became available to me 6 months ago I have watched people slowly increase the price of the 2017 raptor from a low of 53 to almost 70 grand now. I understand the markup for trucks on the lot but if you place an order and wait a few months are you really paying thousands more then sticker?

The problem is we haven't heard from anyone who has put a deposit down on a new Raptor. @zanemasterx - what did you end up paying for yours when you put your deposit down?

Depends on your negotiating skills. I wouldn't pay markup on a vehicle I ordered but the vast majority of folks buy what is on the lot. That is why dealers get away with such absurd price increases, the truck will get folks to stop that otherwise wouldn't. Having an overpriced Raptor sit unsold will sell dozens of regular F150s.

Dealership allocation is going to be the issue once again. I highly doubt the gen 2 will be much different than what we've experienced over the years with gen 1's. I'm sure the first year of the gen 2 release will be crazy markups because of the anticipation, limited availability, and dealerships expectations to charge a premium.

That being said, I've got dibs on the first allocation at my local dealer for under Invoice. Just not sure I want to replace my gen 1 before seeing and driving the gen 2 first.

Did you put money down or do you have a hook at the dealer?
