mannn so it will void the warranty, i was also planning to do the tune. oh well will just have to shed some weight starting from the driver :), removing the spare tire replacing a lighter rims, carbon fiber hood :) letc.. lol

I'm no expert but id say 95% of tuned Raptors will not run into warranty issues. However, I will not risk that as this is my daily driver.

Again, I had a random trans issue that was covered under warranty. My Service adviser said that they would have checked for a tune and if it was found warranty would be denied on this. The extra 30hp is not worth the risk to me.

However, once my warranty is up I will be doing headers and tune...maybe cams if they are not still $5000. lol

i know one dealer where they wouldnt void me... but i had my first order with them that i backed out on after my truck build kept getting delayed, and then they got a build (minus NAV still tho) just as i made my deal with Randy..... so i dunno if i can go to them anymore.... another frined works for a guy who owns a few dealerships and already said he would void me since i have an intake (he also told me Ford doesnt let them haggle on SVT vehicle so i would have to pay over sticker for a Raptor). so i have a local dealership where i know someone, im hoping they are mod friendly.... being in the city, and they would have to "test" my Raptor, im hoping they will look the other way on mods.... i gotta talk to him, im close to my Maintinence Plan Oil Change.....

My dealer said headers would void the warranty? I want SW headers and true duel pipes so bad though, nothing sounds better. what magnaflows are you using. I hate the turbo mufflers that SW uses so lame.

Its not going to void your whole warranty. However, if the headers directly lead to any issues those will not be covered under warranty.

If your headers melt a cable in the engine bay...dealer will not cover that.
If you have headers and you blow a shock...the dealer will cover that.

The problem is that with headers comes a tune. And the dealer is able to blame the tune for nearly any powertrain issue because you have now altered the programing as it came from Ford, and they are not going to pay out of pocket for something that has been altered from stock specs.

And dont expect the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act to help you. The dealer does not have to prove anything, all they have to say is "no, the modification you added caused or led to the failure of a stock part". At that point you have to hire an attorney and fight them.

Been there done that.

The Magnuson-Moss Act affords you protections against unjust claims by the manufacture however, Ford has more money than a typical consumer and will deny claims unjustly because saves them money and because it can. The cost and time involved in fighting the manufacturer are considerable as everyone knows. Most importantly these is not the “old days” where a dealership had the discretion that it once did in the administration of warranty claims. Depending on what the issue is Ford will have to approve the repair and in many cases more information is requested (Chevy is the same) so always keep this in mind when a service writer at a dealership tells you one thing and when you have a significant issue find that Ford disapproved the claim while your truck is on the rack.

Yeah I asked a buddy that I know from a different Ford dealership from where I purchased my raptor, and told him I want to run a tuner cause it really wakes up these trucks. He told me don't put one on while you still got warranty, even if you reflash it back to stock Ford can still see that the computer was flashed.

Your best bet is to get to know your dealer and service manager as they will be the ones that you have to rely on when warranty work is performed. I have a 93 performance tune on mine and have had work done with no issues. I just retune to stock when I take it in as they sometimes will reflash the computer. If they do that with the tune in, you are SOL. Ask them the question and see what they say. Most are truthful up front about it. Mine said I would be ok.

I always return mine to stock before I take it to the dealership even if it's just for the oil change just to be safe and they've never mentioned anything or asked if I've had a tuner on the truck so I guess it depends on the dealership and how
Much they wanna dig into the computers history I guess but no problems at all with my 5star I love te 93 performance tune :peace:
