I would say be up front with your dealer I can see ford not covering tunes if they are not safe ones but we are putting on safe tunes here it's never a good idea to lie or try to hide stuff that is what's wrong with this world. ford has to protect themselves from craziness if your dealership is ok with mods if they put them on and don't find you put a different one on all should be good I don't get why any one would try to take it off if you have the dealership put it on they know it's safe or wouldn't do it.

It depends on how closely they look. The computer will register the change. However, if you have enough time you can switch the tune back, then register a few cycles they may not see it on initial look.

Define "cycles" please.... Gas tanks, starts, what?

I got the tune and am ready for my first service. Then I see all this stuff and I am getting skiddish....Thinking about going back to factory tune and leaving it alone.

Although i loved the shift changes.... damnit!

Run and drive cycles, after a change to stock every cycle is recorded so say driving it for a week before going in will push your change down the list of code and a quick lazy look by a tech may miss the program change on a lower line.

run the tune and if you want to take it back for regular service they wont check, and if you need to take it in for warrenty for a computer problem or problems of that nature then just swap tunes back to stock. because of the magnasun act they have to prove it was undeniably the fault of the tune that caused the issue. I have delt with all of these issues and i have never had a problem swaping tunes back.

FALSE

They only have to prove it was the tune if you take them to court over it. which will most likely cost more than it would to fix it anyways. Most people won't fight it in court. Ford knows this, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act doesn't scare them.

you can always returned you computer to stock mode, that what i always do w/o any problem :)

I always return mine to stock before I take it to the dealership even if it's just for the oil change just to be safe and they've never mentioned anything or asked if I've had a tuner on the truck so I guess it depends on the dealership and how
Much they wanna dig into the computers history I guess but no problems at all with my 5star I love te 93 performance tune :peace:

You can return it to stock all you want but they CAN SEE the tune even if you "un-tune it" back to stock.

They don't mention anything to you because there's no reason. But when there is, when you come in with a warranty issue, you can be sure THEY WILL.

No, they don't have to prove it. YOU DO. All they "have to do" is deny your warranty claim because of your tune, etc. and then YOU GET TO PAY ATTORNEYS to fight FORD MOTOR CO. - if you dare.

Yep.....you hit the nail on the head. This is usually ajudicated by an administrative law judge and Ford will present tons of evidence from multiple engineers and there you are with your poor attorney trying to get a word in edgewise. Now you have spent far more than the warranty work and lost the hearing. Think about how many times you have had a huge warranty bill. What are the odds? I would say very small from a gambling perspective. It is always a roll of the dice!!!
