True, even trophy trucks are starting to run 4WD more now.

No this is not a joke. Your opinion about off roading may very well be very different than mine due to need's.Is this a joke? 2wd raptor for offroading in the desert? With what your describing I suggest to go buy a regular half ton 2wd truck and stay on road. Kinda defeats the purpose of being called an off road truck if it doesnt have 4x4 imo. On top of all that imo again, 4x4 is free in a backward sense. When you go to sell the truck how many buyers do you limit to wanting your truck if its 2x2. You open the door to the entire buying field and you get alot of your money back on resale concerning 4 wheel drive.

Nope, that's not true either. The only TT I can think that is running right now is Rod Hall's new TT built by SamcoBut its more than there were a few years ago. The terrible herbst truck is 4WD. 2WD is great--until you get stuck. I've been on a couple of Baja trips and SCORE races, riding in a friend's 2WD. While the truck handles well and is surprisingly capable, not having 4WD at our disposal limited where we could go, and where we dared to try to go.
AII,
Why would you want ford to build that truck? Just pony up and get a Raptor XT or buy an XLT and build what you want. You are someone who knows what you want and more importantly knows whats available. Do I buy a top of the line point and shoot to shoot a movie? Heck no, I order a body, lenses, support gear and turn it into exactly what I need which is always better than what you can find on a shelf.
My biggest pet peeve on the Raptor the effing pig iron boat anchor between the front fenders. All aluminum and 500hp please. Eliminate ALL the BS Luxo options. With the option to cut down on luxury items you could save at least 500lbs.
