I can't disagree more with either the content or the attitude. We drive 6,000+ pound trucks. With that comes inescapable responsibility.

I'm driving a 2013 with stock HIDs. Never altered my lights in any way. So you're saying it's my fault people get blinded by my lights? I don't run with my LEDs or high beams. I turn my truck on and drive. It's my responsibility to drive within my limits and be mindful of other drivers and pedestrians. It's not my responsibility to not blind drivers with my stock HIDs

I agree with jack, we drive 3 ton trucks, so what, that doesn't mean we should have any more responsibility on the road than the **** in the half ton smart car or the idiot who thinks his Honda is a formula 1 car because it's scraping the ground as he drives along

I agree with Jack here. I have a 2013 with HIDs and have done nothing to them. I too consistently get flashed at since the lights are so bright. I try to react humbly and not blind the person flashing me. I have had the occasion where someone is being an ass about it, where I have flashed the high beams at them to let them know that I am using my lows and when that did not work flash my light bars. The light bars always work.

Getting back to the OP, the cop is doing his job if you are not running stock or DOT compliant lights. So bitch as you might he was doing his Job. If ya disagree it is not up to you to convince the cop, that is what lawyers are for. I learned early on arguing with a cop got me absolutely now where, but having a lawyer sort it out usually made things go away.

I would have told the cop to utilize the tab on his rear view mirror if the lights were to bright for him.. ;) And yes in MD there are a lot of **** cops, and northern VA is just as bad.

I understand the feelings about police officers but guys the law is the law. Yes, they are not all warm and fuzzy all the time but if your in the wrong.......well your in the wrong. Just accept the fine and move on. Life is simply too short to worry to much about these kind of things.

The Cop was the one in the wrong. Police should not be able to issue a ticket with out proof to support the claim. The copy saying your lights are to bright for him is not proof. Maybe the copy was out drinking to much the night before and his eyes were more sensitive. If you can not prove I did something wrong then the cop need to get back in his cruiser and go find a real criminal.

If I have illegal tint, you pull me over and your meter says its illegal then I have no issue with being issued the ticket. But if I get pulled over with stock tint and the cops says its illegal with out testing it then he can pound sand. Actually I would hope he ticketed me as I would enjoy watching my Lawyer eat him for breakfast and then watching which ever department he worked for pay a settlement.

Cops are held to very strict standards for a reason and allowing bad cops to roam the streets is just as bad for the citizens as it is for the PD

Your signature says you have 37 inch tires and higher then stock perch, but you say you never touched your stock lights, that could be the reason you are blinding people and getting flashed.

Even if I'm at stock perch with stock tires, most people will still get blinded by stock HIDs

I ran 37 in tires and top perch. Raptor Retrofit 50w using Osram bulbs. Yes would cook some folks when I puled up behind them BUT they were properly adjusted and had the drivers side cut off perfect. The lines were so good on the projectors that it was like a line that was 100% light and 100% dark. Easy to adjust to not fry peoples eyes. Drive a lot early in the am with almost no flashes ever.

If you are getting flashed you do not have the lights adjusted right. Run aftermarket lights on every truck I have owned. Easy when you get the hang of it.

This is not a game show. The owner knew he did not have DOT approved equipment........he even installed it knowing that. The police officer is only doing his job dude! Albeit not as friendly as possible but still it's his job. If you were stuck in your car with it on fire I expect you would care a lot if he did a wants and warrants first before he pulled you out.
