I've never met a cop exactly like that, but I've also only ever ran into one ******* cop that gave me a warning for passing him on the highway at 70mph when he was going 65mph.
"Yield To The Cop"
A lesson learned long ago. You never know which one is down for some abuse of power. They are the law and can damn well pull you over and wreck your day if they want to.
I defer to them as much as possible - let them go first, don't turn in front of them, don't cut them off, and I don't pass them (unless they are deliberately going too slow because they wanna check you out when you pass).
My wife learned this lesson when we first got married years ago, and she does not deviate from that motto.
Beautiful day with the windows down and sunroof open in her BMW in a not so great part of town bringing our Lab pup home from the vet. On the phone talking to me, a bit distracted, she pulls out right in front of a city cop who was slowing down anyway because of a red light at the intersection . Bad move. Who does this little rich bitch think she is owning the road passing through our 'hood?
So she stops at the light and turns right on red (which is legal in Texas). On come his lights and she's pulled over and detained for 20 minutes while he runs her info, talks up warning vs ticket, asks for her phone number, and when she refuses - writes a citation for failure to come to a complete stop at the traffic light.
All ********. I believe her that she did stop. She knew he was behind her after she pulled out right in front of him. She was damn pissed! and wanted to file a complaint on him for asking for her number - I made her drop it. ******* knows where ya live.
Yield to the cop.
