WTF?! Warning + Citation for Headlights? Come On!

Illinois is truck friendly for the most part. Slap an agricultural sticker of some sort on it and do whatever you want here in farm country.

The DOT regulates the aim, intensity, and beam pattern of a headlight. If the headlight does not conform to these standards it is not "road legal". That is why most alternate-design aftermarket headlights state that they are "for off-road use only". Even if the aiming and the beam pattern are fine, an HID bulb of 55 watts would throw out significantly more lumens than a standard 35 watt HID bulb. This could, conceivably, create massive amounts of glare for other motorists.

Well I mean its trade offs. I'd just as soon hit a deer with this on no second thought to it than veer off the road. I do agree it is one heavy Mother but as my friend Anthony at Ford told me, "Quickly becoming the Heaviest Raptor ever" lol.

Anyways, still kind of peeved that this just happened the week leading up to Veteran's Day. You'd think the officer would have at least paused for a split second to take that into account (I subtly had my MIL ID in the window of my wallet) and have been like, You know... And here I thought my friend was the only one to have something similar happen to him. Was going 125+ on an old country road, Game Warden caught him in the process chased him down till the the road ended. Result = Speed-to-Kill and Car Impounded then Crushed. No joke, Game Wardens have some sick power too.

But no seriously, I thought in the interest of making money the State should allow for generous payments towards Longer customization of plates. MyPlates.com has supposedly generated millions for TX but I feel they could tap that even more to bridge the disparity between cost/time for LEOs risking their lives to make a ******* quota of good-law-abiding citizens just getting ******, while druggies are passing the dope on the streets of Houston or border.

I have not heard of a 6k lamp. 60,000k yes and at that temp they are blue and scream aftermarket. I run a 32,000 k in my FJ and they are white or clear and look like most high end factory lights. Try running 27,000k more on the yellow side and actually put out more light them any other color temp. Just dont look as cool. Did you tell the second cop you just got a warning and was headed home. I would fight it and bring the warring ticket to court and explain what happened and that you were headed home. Might not want to mention that the first cop was gunning for you.

I got pulled over for a headlight out they are looking for drunks and druggies. the second cop all I had to do was say I've got a warning and this is my drive way lol it was but I didn't stop until I pulled into it. he said get it fixed I said yes sir.
