Veterans Days doesnt mean shit to cops. I got a ticket on veterans day a couple years ago. 72 in a 55 on a back country road with no cars around.

Shirty deal, but you were speeding lol. Doesn't matter if there's other cars around or not (obviously there was though if you got a ticket... Lol)

Cops around me don't even go on the backroads. It's nice. So I go 70-80 mph all day long on em.

Unless you're talking about paved roads some Americans call backroads.

LEO damn tough job. We love to hate em because of this very ******** right here. **** the civil taxpayers.

You got your rights ....but quotas make us cite... nothing personal. Move along.

Should be on the side of every squad car. Be less noticeable next time *******. Pay to play. Truth

^True, to an extent... But as I said before and what many may agree with me, there's a very fine distinct line between Doing Your Job and Being An *******.

I mean in my command there's some real-Aholes that'll throw you to the wolves and there are some genuinely good officers that Care. Accomplishing/maintaining the Mission & (unit) Moral can both be done without sacrificing either. It's like watching a bad leader saying **** It get it done or else and leaving, something I have seen before too; doesn't engender respect.

Truthfully if you examine history back in WWI enlisted personnel would often throw primed Grenades into officers' barracks to eliminate/take-care-of/get-rid-of someone who would otherwise get them killed. Thinking about this and then asking why would anyone pull a FIT or get confrontational with any LEO this seems obvious, be an ******* and sooner or later someone's going to push back. Luckily I would never even think about doing that and I'm not that stupid, but there are plenty of dirtbags that have no hesitation against doing so.

Exactly why I got so many tickets in my Titan...blacked out truck with a big star on the front grille attracted a wee bit too much attention.

I've never met a cop exactly like that, but I've also only ever ran into one ******* cop that gave me a warning for passing him on the highway at 70mph when he was going 65mph.

I wish all ******* LEOs could learn from this guy. I've been fortunate enough to have had (2) amazing bosses like that ^ cop, Firm & Authoritative but Understanding & Patient. I try to work towards becoming a better leader everyday by observing good people and then just making a mental note of not wanting to become the ******* that stopped me.

How do cops on horses catch up to you?

^Haha I like it!

Wow power trip much? I think jackasses like this need to pause take a moment to reassess the situation and realize that there are people flying down the HWs at 100+, easily.

"Yield To The Cop"

A lesson learned long ago. You never know which one is down for some abuse of power. They are the law and can damn well pull you over and wreck your day if they want to.

I defer to them as much as possible - let them go first, don't turn in front of them, don't cut them off, and I don't pass them (unless they are deliberately going too slow because they wanna check you out when you pass).

My wife learned this lesson when we first got married years ago, and she does not deviate from that motto.

Beautiful day with the windows down and sunroof open in her BMW in a not so great part of town bringing our Lab pup home from the vet. On the phone talking to me, a bit distracted, she pulls out right in front of a city cop who was slowing down anyway because of a red light at the intersection . Bad move. Who does this little rich bitch think she is owning the road passing through our 'hood?

So she stops at the light and turns right on red (which is legal in Texas). On come his lights and she's pulled over and detained for 20 minutes while he runs her info, talks up warning vs ticket, asks for her phone number, and when she refuses - writes a citation for failure to come to a complete stop at the traffic light.

All ********. I believe her that she did stop. She knew he was behind her after she pulled out right in front of him. She was damn pissed! and wanted to file a complaint on him for asking for her number - I made her drop it. ******* knows where ya live.

Yield to the cop.
