Gen Juan transmission help

Well yesterday at 223k the trans decided it had other plans and retired leaving the wife and I stuck on the I-40 on-ramp yesterday in Kingman. Anyone have recommendations on a good quality shop in Phoenix, AZ?

This was my next question as I do have issues with 4x4 not working but unsure how that effects the trans from having no forward gears or park.

So I dropped the pan and other than being a little dirty as it was due for a service, nothing was jumping out. The magnet had minimal amount on it but nothing like I've seen when they are truly worn out.

If you put it in drive. And then go to park does it make a ratcheting noise??

The transfercase is after the transmission and all power goes through it, also park locks the output shaft in the transmission. Which keeps the drive shaft from turning. If the transfercase is blown up there is no longer a mechanical connection between the transmission and the driveahaft.

hmm...ok...is there something I can do physically to manually test the transfercase maybe? I'm going to ask a ton of questions here so sorry in advance.

Edit: Yes it does make that ratcheting noise when doing that.

can you psuh your truck while in park? if your transfer case is gone, then your truck rolls. when mine went out i had to roll to flat ground where it would stay and not roll anymore

I just got back in the house from pulling the top plug on the t-case. Yeah its gone. Nothing but silver glitter and blackish fluid that poured out with small bits of metal.

Thank you for the help this saved me tons. Now to find a replacement.
