Pretty sure that was only on the Taurus. My early build 2011 FX4 called for 5W30.I think early on gen 1 ecoboost called for 5w20 2011 . Then they upped after a few years to 5w30.

I wouldn't have put 15K miles in the thread title if I hadn't already checked the receipts from the previous oil changes. They did it right at 5K miles, then f-ed it up each oil change since 10K, 15K, 20K. Truck has 25K as of today and the oil was replaced with the correct oil this morning. So... 15K miles with the wrong weight oil.Wrong oil put in during current change doesn’t mean previous changes were wrong unless prior receipts indicate wrong weight. All the facts may not have been presented in this case.
Shady? You're about as smart and helpful as a brick. A company reduces the life of a $75K truck, also diminishes its value (now if I were to sell it I have service records that show it had the wrong oil for 15K miles) and you say I'm shady because I'm asking for ideas on how to make it right? It’s also shady to try to get them to pay for extended warranty and/or lifetime worth of oil changes… etc. If McDonalds gets my order wrong, should I ask a lifetime worth of food or pay for my medical bills? Ridiculous. smh
It'll be fine. Quit stressing out. It's a pickup truck. You drove it easy. You changed oil at half the recommended interval. The chance that there is any damage at all is remote.I wouldn't have put 15K miles in the thread title if I hadn't already checked the receipts from the previous oil changes. Easy there, Cobra. You don't want to start coming across like a whiny little b i t c h, do you?Shady? You're about as smart and helpful as a brick. Four times and it's somebody else's fault.I wouldn't have put 15K miles in the thread title if I hadn't already checked the receipts from the previous oil changes. Fair point. The first change they did it right w/5W30. Every visit after, they simply ask "same as last time, full synthetic?" And I said yes.Four times and it's somebody else's fault.
I think it’s funny some of you trust a dealer more than an oil change shop. I worked at a dealer in my younger years… they’re not paying ASE Certified mechanics to change your oil. Same shit can happen and you just don’t know because you’re not there. If I had time to change my oil myself, I would. 5 kids and 2 very successful businesses take up my time. Anyway, for the one comment that was actually helpful: It’s been babied for the most part, with periodic full throttle runs and some towing. Jiffy is offering oil testing on their dime. I am going to take them up on that and have my own oil testing done as well. I guess I’m looking for ideas on how they can make this right: pay for an extended warranty? Free oil changes for life? Should I sue them in small claims for diminished value of the truck? Etc etc
