A V8 won't be 'ecoboost'. That would not make sense for them. A supercharged v8 does make sense and is already proven. If a V8 cones, that's what it would most likely be.

Maybe go the AMG route and do a smaller 4.4l v8TT

I just read a report that said the 2019 Raptor will have a motor in it. They didn't way it will be nor did they say it won't be a V-8 so you're safe to assume whatever you want.

actually.......it will have an ENGINE. A motor would mean its electric.

Ford has enjoyed a unique market spot with the Raptor...there has been no real challenger to Raptor's segment in terms of a factory vehicle. This may be about to change since the Ram guys have a truck clearly lined up with the Raptor segment which is advertised as having a "truckified" Hellcat engine making 570+ HP and probably lots of torque to go with it. Ford must be watching this with interest. TRX will surely be aimed directly at Raptor if/when it hits the marketplace.

Nobody really has to offer up a Raptor competitor to make sales. Let’s be honest, the Rap is a capable off road truck that excels in the desert ( or dessert, depending on the drivers ). Jeeps are more maneuverable and narrower and tend to be more favored among the rock crawling crowd. For mudding and typical “east coast” lower speed off roading, a regular f150 eco with a lift is plenty capable. Sure, the Raptor will do some things better, but it how much better time are you going to make headed to the deer stand in the Raptor as opposed to a Chevy, Dodge, Taco/Tundra, etc?

If someone offers up a less expensive truck that’s close, they will definitely eat into Raptor sales.

If you want Ford to put a V8 into the Raptor, you better hope Mopar produces a Hellcat TRX 1500. Right now they have zero motivation.

I'd be willing to pay extra for a super raptor.

Jeep trackhawk is about 90k.

I'd pay 90k for a raptor in similar form. 700hp supercharged v8 with brembo brakes, fully optioned out, factory warranty. YESSS PLZZZZZZ

Order now or wait?

I’m looking to finally order my first raptor after years of debating. Should I order now or wait until the v8 drops? Is the extra sound and power worth it? Need advice!

no confirmation for v8, just speculation and rumors. A lot of members here refute the mere possibility of ford putting a v8 in the raptor ever again. Only time will tell.

order banks for the 2019 open up around august I think.
