Me too, just trying to figure out how much is fact and fiction. Is it just a scare tactic? I want a tune but I don't want to have to fight with the dealer if I take it and because the window won't roll down and he won't cover it because of the tune.

Totally understandable, whenever I pick up a wrench, hammer, welder, whatever I go at it knowing full well what the worst case scenario might be. I still usually have reckless abandonment and just say *** it but you will never hear me bitch about something I did with my own hands. I just wish there were more after market options for building the 6.2, my ol lady is glad there is not though. Every time i'm at my nephews race shop I perv on the 408's we have built for his cars and imagine how fun it would be to have that wedged in the Raptor.

Well I think this is dealer specific unfortunately. He told me at my dealer that they don't go into the computer if the problem doesn't call for it and that makes sense to me.
It is illegal for them to deny warranty on a window not rolling down because theres a tune on the truck.
This diode thing is not a scare tactic in the least bit. I know people here want to argue it but I know ford isn't dumb enough to make these truck and not have a way to make sure they are not altered. That would be a big warranty claim.
My truck was in yesterday getting the tires rotated and for the rear doors. The computer would not recognize that the rear doors were open. They did have to hook the computer up and resend something to get them back online. When I left I was just thinking..."dang if I had a tune they would of seen it and here I am been wanting a tune talking about it on the forum" lol Anyways they reset something in the programming and the rear door sensors work now.

That's what I am saying though, did they check the diode after they did the upload? How does the comp know the difference between Ford computer and tuner? Does that mean if I stop by my local to read an error code is that going to fry the diode too? Need the nuts and bolts of this explained to me.

I think thats a good question. I would also like more clarification on this but there is some logic to it I'm sure. As I learn more I will pass it along here.

You know I wish someone nearby had a raptor that had a tuner on it. It would be nice to give it a try and see how it does.
I feel my raptor is plenty powerful and such so I want to see what I am missing out on. I still want one.

I just sit here and weigh my options and I know one day I am going to say.....SCREW IT and call up 5 star!

Today is that day. The tune is 100% worth it. I'm running SVC currently and still have the 5* tunes too. You can't go wrong.

Do you have to change your exhaust if you get a tuner? Also after you loaded your tuner, what did you notice right off the bat when you went to drive your truck?

No, you can run stock everything and just the tune.

Instant gratification: shifting, throttle sensitivity, and power.
