Yea, but if you believe half the posts here about being Hennescrewed, they'll do it using a motor pulled from a car that some poor guy sent them 6 months ago for a week's worth of upgrades.

That EXACT thing happened to a friend of mine back in 2001 with his Viper. Hennessy is a freaking crook!!! Killary and him could open up a shop together...

FordFanStan,
You can bet that there's already more than one twin turbo V8 Raptor made by Ford. Probably been testing them for better than 6 months by now....

Most people are ignorant to engineering applications. Somebody will and it will be a waste of time, fanbois will go crazy.

I'd take that bet. It has been discussed time and time again. There is no real market for it. The added cost of putting a TTV8 in a Raptor puts it outside the price point for the vehicle. The only vehicle Ford makes that could justify the cost is the GT and that car was designed from day 1 to use the TTV6 and it isn't going to change to a V8 now.

I get it. A TTV8 Raptor seems like a great idea, but would you pay $100k for it? Didn't think so. Ford knows this too. Has some engineer at Ford tried slapping a set of turbos on 5.0 F150? Maybe. But it wasn't a Raptor and it has never gone anywhere for testing. It is not even an exercise in reality.

You can hope for a V8 Raptor and you may get one if the V6 doesn't do well (highly doubtful), but it will be NA (maybe even supercharged) not a TTV8 though.

Sorry, but I'll take that bet all day long.

The threads purpose was tailored to questioning which home builder or shop or race team will build the first v8 Gen 2.
Not really about whether Ford tested that application or not, which I assume you have no proof so it's just speculation like everything else on here about these models.

TMX already build a LT 2015 or 16. That's a definite option if you're going full suspension anyway.

FordFanStan,
The question you posed is a request for SPECULATION! You think Ford is going to wait to test a TTV8; They were building TTV6's before the Gen1 ceased production. Sometime in the near future it will come out that they have indeed already built more than one TT V8....
I love the idea of the TT V6; could care less about the sound of a V8. I think Ford has improved on the Gen 1, which I think was the best truck yet made, and love my 2013.
I have driven turbo diesel trucks for 15 years in the past and love the feel of the boost. It's NOT like a light switch at all.
I bet Ford will hit another home run with the Gen 2; and am just as sure they're not waiting to test a TT V8!
