No, but I did take one of the damaged plastics and re applied the coating. It's black again, but I'm sure the sun would eat the coating up again. I used Car Pro Delux for Plastics. I'll never use anything like that again. There's no way to get it off.Oh. Interesting. I had my truck ceramic coated, but I don't know if they did the plastics. I'll find out. Did you try restoring the plastic with something like cerakote? If so, how long did it last?
First Pic (hood vent) picture is using a traditonal trim dressing, its what I have on now. I had the carbon piece but the clear coat failed on that. Another story for another day.
Second Pic (tailgate step) is a part I already replaced. This is the original part that was damaged from the ceramic coating. It started to turn white like yours. I kept it as a spare. It has been replaced since. So what I did was reapply Car Pro Deluxe to see if it would restore and it looks like it worked. However when the coating starts to fail, it will turn chalky white. In my opinion it ages faster than just leaving it alone or applying traditional trim dressings. It's a spare and since my truck is not kept inside the garage, it will fail again and it looks really bad.
Third Pic (hood vent) same story as second. It's a spare and I got it black again. Let me know if you have any questions and here is a link to my post. Mods and things like this ceramic coating plastics because I see it as a trending thing have left a sour taste in my mouth. If I ever get another Raptor I will do things so much different.
CarPro DLux Ruined my Plastics
My truck has less than 5K on the odometer. When I bought it I decided to ceramic coat the paint and while at it I decide to protect the plastic black trim. I never thought it would ruin my plastics the way it did. I've tried using a bunch of products and nothing has worked. I asked CarPro and...
