WOW. Found a loose bolt on the blower where it bolts to the manifold...loose like I touched it with my finger and it rocked sideways. Its the passenger side towards the firewall bolt. You cant see it and it is hell to get to. Sigh... I paid good money to have this installed by a pro and this is what happens. Bull$hit.

Im going to go finish up and just deal with it. Nothing I can do about it at this point.

...stupid thing is...that is the bolt that you are supposed to START the torque procedure with.

Did you get my PM?

Sure did. You have mail.

So i am seeing just under 8 psi and the truck completely shreds these tires now =). I would say problem solved.

Whipple really needs to rethink that back bolt....there is no way to get a torque wrench on it and im using a Snapon Techwrench....among others. The intercooler hoses are directly on top of the bolt due to the firewall pushing them there. I had to use a 1/4" 10 mil wobbler (small snapon chrome ones NOT the black ones) small extension and a low profile 1/4 inch rocking ratchet. I have no idea how tight i got it bit its better than it was. The socket and extension have to be slid in from the side then you can put the ratchet on...I was considering dropping the engine or moving it forward. Maybe the test trucks had higher miles than mine (1200) and the engine sags more.

Anyways, its fixed and I can move on to other mods. Next up is a bigger heat exchanger or dual 8-10" fans or both. Wonder if the mustang units are bolt on......hmmm...

Thx all.

Take it back to him man.

I tightened it up and retorqued every bolt I could. There is really nothing I can do about it except complain. If I bought the kit from them and not just the labor it would be different.
I know how shops work (family owns shops) and it would just **** me off. I can see getting something for free or discounted next time but nobody refunds money anymore. Its a no brainer for them "Why didn't you bring it back?" In my case they are 100 miles away and im not driving my brand new truck that far in the desert with a vac leak. Oh well =) its fixed.

I’m glad you found the problem and where able to correct it.
But if your installer will not properly address the issue you owe it to others in your neighborhood to name him.

beerhasvitamins do you have a video of the beast running?

Nothing yet. Been pretty busy. I will have a video pretty soon though.

I did just get off the phone with Whipple and I plan on ordering the upgraded intercooler tomorrow. It comes with a pulley that adds 1 psi of boost and is still within the Ford Racing tunes ability to handle. Does not void the warranty or anything.

My installer is off the hook. I talked to him today and he said all the right things about future upgrades (see above). He spent over an hour trying to tighten that same bolt that took me an hour to tighten. Case closed. $hit happens. I would still recommend them for the install. He learned on my truck so any future upgrades should be ok lol.
