When do the new allocations typically become available to dealers?

Historically when do dealers typically find out about their allocations for the new/following year.

I really wanted a grey raptor but obviously this is not available for 2022. I had ordered a 2021 in grey but it was converted to a 2022. (If anyone is curious oct order date received this month) I had to change the color to black but I would like to trade the vehicle in for a 2023 assuming grey is available next year. The dealer at that time(October) knew their 2023 allocations but I’m not sure when they were originally released to them.

Basically I want to ensure I’m calling around at the at the ideal time when dealers have received their new allocations for 2023.

Thanks I’m advance!

From my understanding (and I have limited knowledge), dealers guesstimate how many they will get for a year, but dont typically know until each month. For example, my dealer said they get a bunch of allocations, but never know until an allocation is picked up, which varies by month.

And if waiting for leadfoot, I doubt leadfoot will be back anytime soon. It was supposed to be available for a limited time and stayed around for quite awhile. Why not just get your truck wrapped?

Just wanting a regular magnetic grey , or similar, that they offer on their regular f150. I don’t want to
Put money into the vehicle that I can’t get back out of it such as a wrap.

Interesting, I always assumed there was some kind of formula by $ or units sold = ___ allocations

Makes sense that dealers oversell their allocations if there's that much guesswork.

No one knows how many allocations their getting or when they are getting released. Owner of my dealer was thinking he was getting double digit allocations this year but now will be lucky if he gets 4. My advice is to get on a bunch of dealers wait lists for 2023 and whoever calls first gets your money. Good luck.

They used to be given all the allocations for the year as soon as order banks opened. Now it’s spread out and no one really now LS how many they will get. For instance when 22 order banks opened my dealership got 5 allocations, 1 37 and 4 35s.

I guess the better question would be when do the order banks for the following year typically open then?

I put a deposit down in June for my October order, so I would get the first allocation my dealer had.

One Ford dealer that I am aware received 40 Bronco allocations per month in 2021. This year they are averaging 10 per month due to factory build constraints.
