what is the best bbk kits for the raptor??

Haven't seen rotors like that since i was 21 and burn through pads and rotors every 10,000 miles. On my 93 454ss. My Alcons look pretty decent been on 2 years now Gen 1 but i brake like a limo driver in my old age. I did buy a set of front Alcon pads to keep as spare, just under $400 is pricey for a set of pads not mention what the rotors cost.

In what kind of situations are people seeing brake fade with the oem setup? For instance would a stock raptor be able to run hard enough to fade the oem brakes on a Baja run? I'm a huge proponent of being able to stop every time you get on the brakes - just curious what kind of build levels / situations where this starts to become a problem.

I would stay away from R1. I think their quality is garbage and there are other threads on here about R1 that echo that feeling.

I only had the rotors on a previous SRT, not an entire kit, but they warped and rusted less than 1000 miles. Replaced w Brembo and never had an issue.

Hmmm, their forged BBK's have lifetime warranty against cracks and warping?

I have. From a normal commute path too. The stock brakes are strong enough to lock up the wheels but there are some downward off ramp exits that i take that will push the brake feel from fade to ABS lock, no solid in between.

And i grew up being taught how to drive vehicles without any ABS (dad was very old school and did competitive driving in his younger days).

I think the OEM setup is more than adequate for a basic relaxed drive/commute.

Alcons are on my radar. I like having a setup that will fit in 17" wheels.

Surface cracks are fine, just shows the rotor is being worked.

That looks like normal heat cracks to me, I'd run them with no issues. Looks like they have had some heat in them though.

If a crack gets to the edge, time to replace.

yea thats what i have been kinda told by alcon . my rear pads are grinding though so i am still waiting for alcon to send me the pads and rotors
