Disconnecting the battery and connecting the positive and negative cables together for 5 minutes might turn it off if the only reason the light came on was for disconnecting it. If the seat belt pretensioners went off, it was commanded by the RCM (Restraints control module) and the code will likely not clear with a battery disconnect. It might be a trip to the dealer to pull and clear the code. I know you said no airbags went off, but the pretensioners might have. That would render replacement of the belt (I am assuming the shiny comment earlier was not the full reason for replacement..) If there was one person in the front, the left seat belt buckle will be shorter than the right unless someone was riding shot gun if the pretensioners went off.
