Edit: good news is that a led bulb works great. Bad news is that it works too great. How does one buy a led bulb that's not too bright?

if the led lens only gets warm and not hot u can try putting some clear tape over the lens. it should cut the brightness down a little

Under each link here it shows the "Relative Intensity" so I'd recommend picking one that is a 1-2 out of 5 for brightness/intensity.

Awesome! Thanks. Didn't notice that. Obviously the one I ordered was a 5. Call me Tim the Toolman.

Is there a way to perhaps disable one of the LEDs? Maybe paint over it or remove it with pliers?

^^ZBoater's video convinced me to do this. Borla Pro XS muffler installed and resonator deleted. No drone at highway speeds with a great deep note, stoked.
