Just drove on I-10 from Phoenix to Tucson and several times it felt like I was driving over a cattle guard for a long stretch of road. I've driven it a ton of times and never noticed this. I slowed down below 70 and it would stop a couple of the times but I couldn't repeat it the others. It was fairly violent and shook the truck pretty bad. Think I need to take it in for an alignment, something might be coming loose. 10K miles on the tires. I did install new lug nuts and re-torqued them to 150 before the trip. Ill check those again

Saturday I started the truck up and the engine free rev'd while in park and my check engine light came on. I put it in drive and started rolling, hit the gas and had nothing. No response no matter how much pressure I put on the pedal. Pulled over, unhooked the battery for 5 mins, hooked it back up and all was fine. Never did it again. I have a pedal commander installed and need to check the connection but could it be killing the throttle sensor? I really dont want to remove the pedal commander

Also just noticed the 3 red lights in the 3rd brake light went out. Fun weekend

Your highway driving experience sounds more like a tire balance issue to me. I would recommend getting them re-balanced while you're doing the alignment. Also, it's a good idea to rotate the tires on these trucks every 5k miles.

Had one the FRF members, Ryan Heinemann, fabricate a custom bed cage to hold two tires, proeagle jack, compressor and air tank for the train horn...excellent work, there is room for Bodies too....

Thank you, sir. Yes after fighting the washes out look of cheap chinese finish, and trying tire dressing to make them look black....I decided to powdercoat them...first attempt was black cherry which looked great but like any gloss surface was a subject to fine scratches, ect. All of it got destroyed a year ago on an offroad trip in the mud. Went with textured midnight blue color. The finish feels coarse but holds up fantastic with no drama...

Most shops want at least $20 to balance a wheel. Went to 4WP and they did all 4 for $50. Front left wheel was short 1oz and the front right wheel was short 3oz so thats what caused my nasty vibration. Also had them rotate the tires which was free.

They said 150 sounds way too high on lug nut torque. They did 120ft lbs so I guess Im going to re-torque those tomorrow.

Just a heads up... decent bolt cutters will go through those cable locks like butter. I had $10,000 worth of fancy mountain bikes disappear on me and they were locked with a heavier cable than that. I would use heavy chain wrapped in garden hose to protect the wheels if I were you.

How does that mount to the bed bolts? Is that just a plastic cap over the hole?

I would blame the pedal commander for your throttle issues... plenty of stories out there of them causing problems.

Mine would rev the engine if I tried using the vhf radio. Glad I found that out in park in the driveway rather than on a trail during a run.

That's cool to know. Wonder if I can get a little more oomph if I press the mic when pressing the gas pedal.
