That wiring looks about like mine. Tons of split wire loom. I ran my grounds all the way back as well but knowingly. You have a guaranteed good grounding point there so no issues.

I grounded mine to the battery. Everything. My lights, Icom, and Lowrance all all grounded and powered straight to the batter.

Took out the thermal wrap of my engine bay AC lines and used some insulating cover from Lowe's. This was in fact the original mod recommendation. I spent $3 in insulation and about 10 zip ties. Looks better, and I think it works better too. At least it did until my AC died for about an hour today...

LOVE the Nushield! Got one for the Kenwood 7" deck in the truck and one for the 8" navi in the wife's Flex.

Use a new microfiber cloth with some sort of solution safe for your screen. Chemical guys glass cleaner works great. If you get it super clean and start from one side working the air out as you go, it will install perfectly in about 30 seconds. I have zero bubbles on both installs. Really high quality protector and it noticeably cut down the glare. Really cut it down on the Kenwood that I could not read previously in bright sun with sunglasses on.
