That wiring looks about like mine. Tons of split wire loom. I ran my grounds all the way back as well but knowingly. You have a guaranteed good grounding point there so no issues.

Yes. Remove tab one (red) and stick to clean surface carefully removing bubbles with credit card or fingers then remove green tab (2) and non sticky cover. It is tricky and less sticky than ones used in past but it will stay in place.

I did it with the engine running. Radio ON to align to the actual screen backlight and just to see better. AC off to avoid dust flying around. Luckily on this one I did not damage with my fingerprints (I'm getting better as I damage more of them lol). If you were to get a print on or a speck of dust just peel back with adhesive tape to the front touch area and use another piece of adhesive tape to lift it off the sticky (inner) NuShield side. It worked with my iPhone and Mac. The Pebble watch was a bitch (too tiny) and I gave up lol.
