Good to know. I already have it mounted, and 95% of my driving is on road, so I'm going to give it a shot. Its still day & night better built than the swing case it replaced.
After reading your post, I may make an angle bracket to bolt the top corner of the box to the bed side upright. The more flex I can take out of it, the better it should hold up (I think). Suppose time will tell.
I had those same boxes, damn drawers always coming open and tools getting wet. So I went the other way, put in a swing case on each side. Only been in truck about 3 months. Just curious- what were your gripes on um please?

Where did you find the "SVT"? All I have come up with is "Raptor" and the old Ebay listing from a few years ago.
The problem I had was the brackets that are on the back side of the box that the lock rod goes through are plastic. They fit in a plastic tongue and groove style slot molded into the box which broke out after about a year. The weight of the whole box is hanging on the latch and rod on the lock end. When it broke out on mine, I screwed a block of wood (a 1" thick block worked) into the bed floor so when the box swings into position, the bottom was resting on the wood. I think that would have prevented the box from breaking had I known the weak point.
I dont do real hard or frequent offroading and it only lasted about 2 years. Hopefully they have improved the design to prevent it from breaking out again. Good luck with your boxes, but you should look into supporting the bottom of the boxes when they are locked in.
