Ok, feel free to tell me Im an idiot and the Raptor is a desert runner. Im an old hillbilly that moved to Texas 5 years ago. Im used to shit that can go offroad in the mud.

A few minutes ago during a rain storm I took my Gen2 off road in the mud. Yes, the mud was deep and the ground was soaked. But shit it got stuck in my yard in 2 wheel drive. My Tacoma (had 5 of them) never had this issue. I went up the road to a circle track the kids ride 4 wheelers on and I got stuck right away. Yes its wet outside but **** this thing has such a hard time in mud. I had a Gen1 and it sucked in mud just as bad. I had the exact same issue with it while my Taco just kept going, WTF. In mud both Gen1 and Gen2 trucks become useless. I assume its the tires.

Flame on. I know, I suck, Im supposed to be in the desert in California where the truck shines.

I love my truck and its incredible in the dry. But let it rain 3 inches and its like a 2 wheel drive Chevy S10. It just spins. I almost couldnt get it out in 4x4 on a few occasions tonight.

This post is just for fun. Try not to take yourselves and your trucks to serious. :) Oh my god MJ you cant drive and your tread is full of mud, what do you expect?

Ok, ok, yes, I have been drinking. Lol

Weight. That's the biggest difference between the Raptor and your Taco in regard to mud performance.

Where in Texas are you? There's a LOT of clay in the soil in some areas, which packs the tread and effectively turns the tires into slicks. The key in those cases is tires with large void spaces (mud tires) and tire speed to fling the clay off the tires.

Lol, I hate mud! Raptors aren't the best mudders and I hate the clean up! My 91 Bronco is a much better mudder but it weighs a lot less.

We all had one great time in the mud a few years ago down in Texas at a little get together called TRR and I don't remember seeing anyone stuck!!!

I had mine in the mud, snow, rocks and sand, and will say that I drove over 97k miles and NEVER got stuck - not one time. Whether on the rocks in Moad, the mud at TRR, the snow at Snowball or climbing over the mountains in Colorado at CRR, I never once felt like that truck wouldn't get me there.

And I promise you this, I probably only put maybe a few hundred miles on it while in four wheel drive. I had some old wore out mudders on it for a while and some 35" KO2's, but 90k+ miles were on KO's, either in 35" or 37".

I can only imagine how much better I would have gotten around with 500 lbs. less weight like the Gen2. Maybe it's that ****** V6 letting you down........lol

I like nachos over tacos
Try some tequila with a taco, you will get stuck somewhere sure enough

Have another for me and post some pics or it never happened

You went into the mud... in the --rain--, in 4x2 and you got stuck.

I used to go four wheeling with buddies when I was in my late teens, early 20s. The guys who had more serious trucks had a word for this.

Foolish.

I’ll paraphrase the words of wisdom I got from one of these gents.

‘4x4 doesn’t mean you won’t get stuck, it just means you go a little further than the 2w drives before you get stuck’.

I’ll suggest: Off road first, drinking later.

Should of probably stopped by the carwash before pulling that mud-ridden truck into the garage. You got a mess to clean-up out of your garage when you wake up in the morning.
