Do you own one or have you used one. This was gonna be my next welder. Should do everything I want except tig aluminum. I would really like a experienced opinion on this welder.

im a welder by trade and like i said if i was buying new equipment from scratch the multimatic would be the top of my short list. while there are other machines out there with similar capabilities with a little more jam they don't have the ease of setup or the portability of this machine and they can't run off 110v. like this thing is the size of a large briefcase and only weighs 30lbs (without a roll of wire) so it would be like 50lbs (with wire) and it can still do aluminum just not aluminum tig

I am between the Miller 212 and 211, I am leaning towards the 212 for the duty cycle though.

unless you're really cranking the wire out of those machines all the time you will not notice the difference in the duty cycle i know i spend more time welding with my migpak 15 then what the duty cycle says with out issue unless I'm welding some pretty heavy stuff like 1/2" or thicker material

im a welder all day every day and we use nothing but lincoln welders because we had to many problems with our millers. not saying we dont have plenty with our lincolns either, all your preference really and make sure you have a good welding supply near by that carries the parts you need for the welder you buy. we use airgas and have lincoln welders so we dont get to buy lincoln parts we have to buy ************* radnor parts that they make for millers and others.

I'm with you there. When I was a welder for oil and gas, I had a Lincoln vantage 300. Here's what I found: Lincoln rules with the big units for pipe and large stuff, but all of our shop welders use miller for wire feed boxes.

Im a welder also. In some parts of the mill we have Hobart and miller welders from way back... way way back. They still weld. We abuse the hell out of them running 7/32 or 1/4 rod for hours with some airarc thrown in. They seem to hold up pretty well.

I have a Firepower fp260 mig that welds phenomenal. I also own a harbor freight 110 that welds pretty damn good for $120. The thing with welding machines is, they're only as good as the person using them lol.
I have a diversion 180 and I really like the 110 or 220 system miller has.
