Everyone's "range" is different depending on many things like what they want to accomplish, pocketbook, skill, and how much time the ol lady is going to let u spend in the shop burning ur clothes, hands, arms and eyes lol. I spent 1500$ on my Lincoln 216 but it will be the last welder I ever need (I had already went through two cheap ones). You also need to look at ur availability of gas and wire because sure as shit it will be a Sunday night in the middle of a project when you run out.

Hazzard, HOW RIGHT YOU ARE, and that has happened to me using 30 lb spools, you get so into your project, running home to get more done, never thinking of looking at the gas gauge or how much wire is left, that has tought me a good lession on looking before working, lmao

Yep I have had to go beg, borrow and steal gas from buddies because it's always Sunday and I can't get gas anywhere. Of course I always have some flux core but usually prefer solid wire clean welds.

im a welder all day every day and we use nothing but lincoln welders because we had to many problems with our millers. not saying we dont have plenty with our lincolns either, all your preference really and make sure you have a good welding supply near by that carries the parts you need for the welder you buy. we use airgas and have lincoln welders so we dont get to buy lincoln parts we have to buy ************* radnor parts that they make for millers and others.

The Millermatic 200 is a sweet unit if you want to get mig stick and fig then it the way to go.

Do you own one or have you used one. This was gonna be my next welder. Should do everything I want except tig aluminum. I would really like a experienced opinion on this welder.
