There's a whole lot of misinformation in the world. I bought the 2018 Raptor SPECIFICALLY because it HAD the TT v6. Contrary to the (dwindling) Neanderthal belief system, ALL truck owners don't need or want a v8 engine. Power to weight is "heavily" biased towards the v6 TT vs the antique v8 behemoths.
If anyone has actually driven in competitive (not "track day" shit) driving events, they would fully understand actual performance as measured with a precision time instrument vs perceived performance based on hearing.
Of course, revving in the Taco Bell drive through is much cooler with a v8...
Ive driven imsa, nasa heavy metal, TONS of track time and have a garage at a racetrack.
I don't want a V8 for **** measuring reasons. I want one for compression braking ( which a TT v6 will never match) and throttle response because there is a 1/4 second lag even with throttle sensitivity turned all the way up, that makes driving a gen 2 way more "jerky" that a similarly equipped gen1.
and yes, i know, porsche this, ford GT that, check out this fast v6 blah blah blah.
its an american truck built for desert fun. it should have a v8.
if it sounded like Robby Gordon's truck, I'd buy 7. 0ne for each day of the week.
