Hi there I am new to the forum and I am looking for some advice in regards to purchasing a Raptor R.

I have been looking at prices on very lightly used ( under 10,000 miles) raptor r’s 2023 and 2024 models. I am finding that there is opportunities out there on lightly used 2023’s under MSRP, although I know the 2023’s did not have heated steering wheels ( I live in the northeast cold and snow), they did not have HUD, and they have approximately 20 less horsepower. Just curious if there is anything else I missed and is the 2024/2025 Raptor R worth paying MSRP plus over the 2023 ?

The other question I have is it worth ordering a 2025 brand new and waiting 4-6 months or longer ? 2 years ago I vowed I would never order another vehicle from Ford as it was one of the worst vehicle buying experiences I have ever been thru = lack of information and new vehicles sitting in Detroit for 2-3 months after being built with no explanation. I’ve owned 4 raptors and 3 of them where all 12-13 months waiting time.

My other question is are there any forum members who have driven all the Raptor variants = Ranger, bronco, and F 150 and if so which do you prefer in regards of performance and value. I have driven all the F 150 Raptors and the Bronco Raptor, and for me the Bronco Raptor was the most enjoyable to drive. My only problem with the Bronco Raptor is value. The bronco Raptor was massively over produced by Ford and now ford dealers can not give them away, which can be a good thing because you can get a brand new one for $ 75,000.00 to $ 80,000.00 after discounts fully loaded ( $ 95,000.00 MSRP). The bad thing is the depreciation will be terrible if you ever decide to trade it in or sell it = 40-50 cents on the dollar. You know the Raptor R will hold it’s value much better and is produced in much lower quantities, very similar to the 2015-2020 GT 350 R SHELBY.

Any input or suggestions from knowledgeable Raptor R owners would be appreciated.

Thank You.

Get an R. If you can get a low mileage 23 for under MSRP, that's a good deal. If you can get a 24/25 at MSRP, jump on it.

Either way, get the R. I'm coming from a TRX and many miles in Gen2 and Gen3 ecoboost raptors and the R is a special truck.

Thats insane how bronco raptor prices are an easy 15K+ under MSRP now. IMO they are priced now about what the MSRP should have always been. Absolutely crazy how they wanted over 95K MSRP and often times with large ADMs attached just a short time ago. Plenty of sub 10K mile used ones for 67K before negotiations in Houston, even saw one for 59K. At that price they might not be a bad buy.

I have owned 801a and 802a and don't have any personal experience with the R. While attending Raptor Assault, I questioned the instructors about the R. They all agreed the 802a was the best off-road vehicle made including the TRX. They had driven them all and much preferred the 802. Their knock of the R was poor balance because of the extra weight of the motor and wheel spin because of the extra power to the wheels. Just passing along the information from the experts.

If you want a Braptor get a slightly used one. No way I'd touch a new 24 or 25 if you are resale price adverse. But have a feeling you already know that.

R you will have to play dealer games (used and new) and 100 threads on pricing on R here so save the rehashing on that.

Maybe the question for you is, should you be buying a 801A, 802A or R. Bronco and a pick-up are two different animals, so figure out which one you want and go from there. Bronco = Buy used.

Good luck.

If you are going with an R I would get a 24 if you could. It looks like the 24 has the options the 23 doesn’t and also has a lot of the features they eliminated from the 25.

I do own the 24 only because my dealer didn’t get an allocation for a 23 so I waited about 2 years to get one. But looking at what happened I think I happened to get the best year my mistake.
