Upgrading stock OEM trans cooler

More fluid will need to be added because of the swap and the larger cooler. About 3/4 quart.

I can confirm you do need to cut the hose and it's simple with snips or whatever. Don't overthink it. It's easy. New cooler clips right in.

Do you just add fluid to the new cooler? Would there be air in the system then?

Did mine and it was less than 10 minutes as someone stated, taking off the hose was the hard part, and refilling the trans cooler first with 3/4 quart before reinstalling the top hose!!! Found the cooler on eBay for $109 including shipping.

Well I procrastinated on this and then last week I took a trip over Blewitt pass up into the Okanogan for a week of camping and buffalo gun shooting. Running 75-85 mph with a few hundred pounds of gear my trans got up to 215 degrees with the all stock system.

Now that I’m back I’ll be efforting this cooler/pan swap and make a video of it to put up.

Bonus...prices on the Saudi cooler seem to be coming down too. Running about $80 on Tasca parts and get oem parts...

Btw, Mishimoto just posted about them making a new trans cooler. Looks similar to the Saudi cooler, but about 2 and a half times more expensive.
